This simple sauce recipe is perfect for your pasta and pizza during the week. Traditional, fast and delicious, this sauce is perfect for those week days where you are short in time but you still want incredible home made food.
Ingredients
1 can San Marzano Tomatoes DOP (Denominazione di Origine Protetta means it's from Italy)
1/4 cup Olive Oil
4 Garlic Gloves (thinly sliced)
1 bunch Basil
1/2 cup Parmigiano Regiano
Directions
Blend tomatoes and pass them through a colander into a bowl.
Add oil, garlic and basil to a cold large pan and set heat to medium.
Once the oil starts to slowly boil, add the strained tomatoes to the pan.
Add a generous pinch of salt to the pan and mix.
Increase the heat (as high as possible without making a mess) and cook (stirring every couple of minutes) until sauce has the desired thickness and most of the water is cooked out.
Turn off the heat, remove the pan from the stove, add in the cheese and stir until the cheese becomes one with the sauce.
Use with your pasta, pizza or favorite dish.
