Pan con Tomate y Jamón

This one is a classic and a truly popular dish and breakfast in Spain. The name says it all pretty much; bread, tomato and spanish jamón. The perfect combination for an incredibly simple yet delicious dish.



Ingredients

  • 2 Toasts

  • 1-2 Tomatoes

  • 1-2 gloves Garlic (I personally love black garlic)

  • Olive Oil (a good one)

  • 2-4 slices Jamón (prosciutto will also work)

  • (Optional) Truffle

 

Directions

  1. Remove the tomatoes stems and cut the tomatoes in 4 pieces each.

  2. Add tomatoes, a generous drizzle of olive oil and salt to a blender and blend the mix for around 6-10 seconds.

  3. Toast pieces of bread.

  4. Peel garlic gloves and rub them against one side of the pieces of toast.

  5. Spread a layer (to taste) of the tomato mix over the toast.

  6. Spread a thin layer of jamón over the toast.

  7. Finish with some olive oil.

  8. (Optional) Grate some truffle on top.
